Located just off the bar and restaurant hotspot of Rundle Street, Ayers House Museum is an easy inclusion to your walking tour of Adelaide. From 1855 to 1897 this was the home of South Australia’s Premiere, Sir Henry Ayers.
The forty room mansion has been restored to its former opulence with a magnificent hand painted ceiling in the formal dining room.
Ayers House Museum also hosts changing exhibitions. At the time of writing, this was an exhibit of the 1920’s costumes used in the television series Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries.
