The sand is blindingly white and so fine it squeaks beneath your feet. The water is crystal clear. The wildlife is prolific. Last time I was here I had a tug-o-war with a possum over my packet of flatbread. You’ll also see kangaroos, dolphins, whales, kookaburras and all kinds of birds. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and am always stunned by the beauty of the place. There are some gorgeous walks and a few beaches to visit. There are several campgrounds in Booderee National Park, but one is suitable for your camper van, and it is my favorite.

What makes it special?
It is in the beautiful Booderee National Park, just a stone’s throw from that pristine beach with the squeaky white sand and it has abundant wild life.
