We will be camping at Black Range end of May 2018. Has anyone been there and found no water in the rain water tank? What is the likelihood of getting there with no water in the tank?

If it has been raining there is a good chance you’ll get rain water from the tank, but it’s a good idea to take your own, just in case.

Just asking about the Black Range Camping Ground, i gather this is a non powered site? Do you have to contact anyone prior to camping there? And are there toilet and shower facilities there?

Hi Brian! There are toilets but no showers. And as you suspected, sites are unpowered. You do not have to contact anyone before arriving. It is a first come basis. If you camp here it would be great to hear about your experience. Happy travels!

Hi Brian, the facilities I listed in the article (pit toilets, picnic tables, tank water) are the only facilities. No showers. Bookings aren’t required so you don’t need to call ahead. Happy camping!

I forgot to ask, is there a river or creek nearby? If so that will serve as our shower!
